Agnieszka Banasiak T

Artistic CV: Agnieszka Banasiak began her adventure in art studies in 2010 at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (Faculty of Fine Arts - major: Artistic Education in the field of visual arts). In 2013, she defended her bachelor's degree. This year, she changed her specialization to Drawing Media and obtained the title of Master of Arts in this field in 2015. She defended her theoretical and practical diploma under the supervision of prof. Wiesława Limont and dr hab. E. Jabłońska. Both works were distinguished and received the first nomination for the Janusz Bogucki medal. She is a member of the Association of Polish Visual Artists of the Toruń District. The artist paints with acrylic paints on canvases.
  In July 2023, the cover of the magazine You and Me from 1963, made by Cieślewicz in the collage technique, inspired the artist to paint a new cycle from the series Hidden Beauty. The artist is also delighted with old art and the work of contemporary artists such as Grand, Abakanowicz and the abstractions of Lucio Fontana. The artist experiments, often being inspired by the works of these artists. This is what happened with the newly created abstract paintings. Her searches increasingly cross the so-called comfort zone. Her abstractions are on the border between art and luxury. The jewelry invented by the artist, mounted on canvas, has a symbolic meaning, which against the background of minimalism takes on unpolished artistic features. At the same time, the artist is fascinated by old photography. She tries to capture old times and connects them with the course and influence of contemporary times.  The artist's paintings can be found in many private collections in Poland and abroad, including England, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Spain, the Czech Republic, and France.

I received: 3rd place - Nomination by the Editorial Chapter of the Pomeranian Gazette, Bydgoski Express, and Nowości Dziennik Toruński for the Personality of the Year 2023 in the Field of Culture
