Agnieszka Brzezińska
Agnieszka Brzezińska b. 1975 in Wałbrzych. In the years 2014 - 2019 she studied at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts. Eugeniusz Geppertt in Wrocław, where in 2019 she received a diploma under the supervision of Professor Janusz Merkel. The artist's works have been presented at individual and collective exhibitions, and are also in private collections. In 2017, the artist initiated the opening of the Art Gallery in the post-Evangelical church in Ludwikowice Kł.
In her work, the artist started from abstract painting, transforming and simplifying the observed reality. The essence of the works does not focus on their "meaning" or "understanding", but on "feeling" them, and the topic of her research is the broadly understood concept of structure. He puts a lot of effort into his works in order to find new forms of expression. The result is the resulting multilayered composition, devoid of shapes and figures, and speaking only in terms of structure and color.
From 2020, abstract motifs give way to elements of figurative painting, and the main theme, next to color, is the figure of a woman. The intention of the artist is to present her in appropriate colors. Its aim is to make the figure from the painting consistent with the color. In order to achieve this, she follows her intuition, which helps her make the right choice of color palette and eliminate unnecessary compositional elements. A characteristic feature of the resulting paintings is that the artist always presents her protagonists with an emphasis on their backs and in a characteristic head covering.
