Albert Christoph Reck was born in 1922 in Krapkowice (now Poland), and died in 2019 in Hamburg. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg under the supervision of Professor Alfred Mahlau. From the 1960s to 2003, he lived in South Africa and Swaziland. His works combine the tradition of European painting with African influences. He has been called the German Picasso.
