Anna Stępień
I graduated from the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the University of Applied Arts in Szczecin, with a Master's degree in Art (2006). I am an artist by passion and profession. I discovered my passion for painting during my studies. After several years of experimenting, I developed my own painting style. I practice expressive painting, in which I put emphasis on movement and dynamics obtained by using firm strokes with a painting spatula. I put the paint thick on my works, creating the expected image structure. My favorite subject and the center of my interest is the man with a focus on a woman, which has resulted in a large collection of nudes. A characteristic feature of the paintings is the non-personification of the face, which I achieve by using light and shade that highlights the basic outline of the face. Recently, works devoted to marine life, animals and urban landscapes have appeared in the subject of my work. The second area of ??my work is artistic research in line with my profession - graphic designer. As part of the cooperation with the great jazzman Michał Urbaniak, I created an original cover design for Urb Symphony (2015), and I also received a distinction in the national competition for a credit card design for Fortis Bank. My works are in private collections. Exhibitions: 1. Collective exhibition of posters by students of WSSU (2004), 2. Individual exhibition at the Hormon club in Szczecin (2007). 3. Individual author's exhibition at Contact Caffe (2016). 4. Individual exhibition entitled "Color of women" in cooperation with Galeria Uległa (March 2017). 5.
