Emilia Knausówna
In the years 1898–1901 she was a student at the School of Painting for Women of Teofila Certowiczówna. She studied with Jacek Malczewski, Jan Stanisławski and Włodzimierz Tetmajer. She graduated with distinction.
After completing her studies, she visited Italy, France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. She was a member of the "Zero" group and the Circle of Polish Artists in Kraków. In the years 1914–1915 she lived and worked in Vienna.
She practiced easel painting, painted portraits, mountain landscapes, still lifes, flowers. She developed a series of drawings on the theme of the Legions. She exhibited in Warsaw, Kraków, Poznań, Vienna, Odessa, Kiev.
She exhibited her paintings at many Kraków art salons, as well as in Warsaw at the salon of Aleksander Krywult, in Vienna, Lviv and Odessa. Her works can be found in the collections of the Wawel Royal Castle, the Lviv Picture Gallery, the Leon Wyczółkowski District Museum in Bydgoszcz and in private collections.
