Jacek Lalak
Born in 1948 in Gorzów Wielkopolski. He studied at the Poznań University of Technology (1966–1972; specialization: lighting technology). In 1971, he won the First Step in Art Photography competition at the Poznań Photographic Society. Member of the Photographic Societies of Poznań, Pilski and Wrocław. Member of the Wrocław Format Group (1974). In the years 1976–1979 he ran the photography section of the 1212 theater lovers club at the Polish Theater in Wrocław. In the 1980s, he collaborated with the Foto-Medium-Art Gallery in Wrocław. Member of the 4+ Creative Team. In his individual projects, he often uses various photographic techniques, adjusting them to his own artistic statements. By modifying them, he creates his own techniques, e.g. from the rubber technique. He builds pinhole cameras (camera obscura).
