Jarosław Modzelewski
Jarosław Modzelewski was born in 1955 in Warsaw. He is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, and received his diploma in the studio of prof. Stefan Gierowski.
He was one of the founders of the artistic group representing the new expression "Gruppa", and is now a teacher on his Alma Mater.
In the initial period of his artistic career, Modzelewski created abstract paintings, sometimes using templates. In the years 1986–1989 he created realistic figural paintings characterized by the mood of surrealism. In the 1990s, Modzelewski's painting was characterized by the schematic approach to human figures.
