Jerzy Kośnik
(born 1950 in Warsaw) Nestor of Polish photography; one of the most versatile photographers - known for his nudes, reportages and portraits. He is also a fascinating personality, and his life is an example of the history of Polish transformations. He has been involved in photography since the age of 17. As early as 1968, he documented the student protest at the Warsaw University of Technology. From 1977, Jerzy Kiciel worked for the "Film" magazine, for which he photographed actors and show business stars at the largest international festivals. In 1980, the photographer joined Solidarity Region Mazowsze in order to become a social photojournalist and from the perspective of the observer and participant to photograph events important for the country. As a result of journalists' verification under martial law, he was released from "Film". Since then, he privately photographs the stars he values. Since 1985, KNIK has been a member of the Association of Polish Art Photographers. After 10 years of working for the French agency GAMMA (1981-1990), he returned to the nude and the portrait. For several years now, his passion has been the creative processing of digital photos: It gives me an incredible creative freedom. From then on, studio photos became only a part of what was created later. Digital Art absorbed me completely and allows me to be not only a passive recorder of reality - says the photographer.
