Małgorzata Wielek-Mandrela

Małgorzata Wielek-Mandrela was born in 1976 in Limanowa. In the years 1997-2002 she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow (Faculty of Painting). In 2009, she defended her doctorate "Heart Research" at her university. He is engaged in easel painting. He is a professor at the Faculty of Arts of the Pedagogical University of Krakow.

In 2010-1012 she was a co-creator and coordinator of the international artistic project Przedmieście carried out by the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow with partners from Vienna and Ostrava. In 2019, she received a Creative Scholarship from the City of Krakow. He works in the tattoo duo Czarny Zakład, he also runs Pracownia 16 with painting activities.

The artist has participated in over one hundred collective and nearly 40 individual exhibitions. In 2017, she won the 2nd prize at the 4th Piotrków Art Biennale. In 2016, she received the Grand Prix of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage in the 4th Triennial of Polish Contemporary Painting "Autumn Confrontations" (BWA Rzeszów). In 2015, she won a special award at the 3rd Piotrków Biennale of Art. In 2012, she was in the final of the international Strabag competition in Vienna. In 2011, she was nominated for the Polityka Passport award. In 2010 she received the 1st prize in the 8th Triennial of Small Painting Forms - Toruń 2010 at the Wozownia Art Gallery.
