Maria Kostrzewska-Baron

The artist graduated from the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Łódź, Faculty of Painting and Unique Textiles. After graduation, she worked as a set designer, mainly in puppet theaters.

For the last 20 years, the artist has been associated with film. She was a set designer, decorator and costume designer. Cooperation with theaters and film was an inspiration to create the first collection of small porcelain sculptures, made in the Porcelain Factory in Chodzież.

Currently, the artist works in her own technique, which she constantly improves, bearing in mind the purity and simplicity of form. Each sculpture is a unique and unrepeatable object.

Maria Kostrzewska-Baron's works were presented at the Museum of Textiles and the Ethnographic Museum in Łódź and in Stockholm. They were also exhibited at numerous exhibitions: in Poland, the USA, the Czech Republic, Germany and France.
