DISPLAYS: Richard Joseph Anuszkiewicz was born in 1930 in Erie, and died in 2020 in Englewood, USA.
He was the child of Polish immigrants, Adam and Wiktoria Anuszkiewicz. He studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art from 1948 to 1953. He received a master's degree in fine arts from Yale University. He was one of the most popular precursors of op art, a trend that dominated art in the 1960s, mentioned by American art critics alongside such names as Mondrian, Malevich, and Albers.
