Stanisław Pręgowski
He was born in 1940 in Brześć Kujawski. From 1964 he was associated with Piła, where he started his professional life as an aviation officer. Co-organizer and founder of the Piła Photographic Society and the originator and long-term curator of the International Biennale of Photography "Child". In the years 1995-2000 he founded and ran the "P" Gallery in the Pilski House of Culture. Pręgowski is the author of several individual exhibitions: he published his works in numerous folders, almanacs, and albums, among others. Nude, Venus Poland. In 2001, the Kurpisz publishing house released his album entitled People and stones. Laureate of international and national photo competitions. In his work he deals mainly with black and white photography and noble techniques such as solarization and rubber, which are his main interests. He has mastered this over 100-year-old technique to perfection, achieving outstanding results. The climate of his gums brings to mind the best works of rubber players from the so-called Photographic Impressionism. Since 1990 he has been a member of the Association of Polish Art Photographers. The artist's numerous works are in private collections and galleries in Poland and abroad, among others at the Alinari Institute in Florence, in the Vatican collections, in the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Canada and the USA.
