Sylwia Górak
Born in 1979 in Nowa Sarzyna.
She is a graduate from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań, where she studied at the Faculty of Painting and Drawing in the field of performance. Her mentor was prof. Jarosław Kozłowski, one of the greatest representatives of conceptualism in Poland.
The artist has received numerous scholarships from foreign institutions, including Prohealvetia in Switzerland, CECArtsLink in New York, and Landeshauptstadt Kulturamt in Dusseldorf. Sylwia Górak is also a laureate of the Youth Art Biennale RYBIE OKO 5. She experimented also with urban-art scene: in Dusseldorf she created the largest sundial in the world.
Beside the painting and perfomance, she is also involved in soprano singing. She took part in the concert of The Paderewski Festival Singers at Carnegie Hall in New York. She currently lives and works in Leżajsk.
