Tomasz Klimczyk
Tomasz Klimczyk was born in 1967 in Krakow. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow at the graphics department, where he obtained a diploma in the lithography workshop under the guidance of prof. Roman Żygulski in 1994. He studied painting in the studio of prof. Zbysław Maciejewski. In 1994 he received a distinction in the nationwide competition "Landscape in contemporary painting". In 2003 and 2009 he was awarded in the national competition "Triennial with still life".
He took part in over 100 group exhibitions in Poland, USA, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Holland, Germany, England and Japan. He is also a participant in many open-air paintings and symposia in the country and abroad, including France, Greece, Germany, Slovenia, India, Nepal and Tibet.
The artist's works are in private collections in Poland and abroad, among others in the collection of paintings by the city of Arras in France, Tilburg in the Netherlands, Georg von Opel in Eschborn in Germany and the Miyauchy Foundation in Tokyo in Japan. In 2019 he received a grant from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation.
