Wanda Wedecka was born in 1919 in Gomel and died in 2011 in Warsaw. In the years 1945-1951 she studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.
Wanda Wedecka mainly painted slightly unreal compositions of dried flowers painted on neutral or abstract backgrounds, and rarely touched on the subject of still life, landscape and nude. The artist also made abstract paintings, in which she often used thick impastos, coming somewhat closer to the trend of matter painting. In her work, Wanda Wedecka used a rather dark, subdued color palette.
The painter took part in group exhibitions and also had several individual exhibitions, including: in Toruń, Płock and Brussels.
