Włodzimierz Rutkowski
Włodzimierz Albin Rutkowski lived from 1915 to 1992.
Włodzimierz was born in Warsaw. He was interested in painting by his uncle, Aleksander Wołowski, who was also a painter. When his father, Józef Rutkowski, received the position of music professor at the Krzemieniec High School, the whole family moved to Krzemieniec. There he took art lessons. After returning to Warsaw, Włodzimierz Rutkowski attended the Municipal School of Decorative Arts and Painting, one of the lecturers was the painter Czesław Wasilewski. Włodzimierz Rutkowski became friends with Wasilewski and, like him, created atmospheric landscapes and images of horses. His works participated in numerous exhibitions organized in Warsaw galleries, and thanks to Emilia Wołowska, who was his aunt, also in other Polish cities. After World War II he lived for some time in Włocławek, in 1960 he returned to Warsaw and painted mainly city landscapes.
