Wojciech Jańczak
Wojciech Jańczak - (born in 1990 in Parczew, Lublin Voivodeship) lives and works in Lublin. Self-taught painter and illustrator whose works are a mixture of surrealism and cubism. He creates paintings in pastel, watercolor and acrylic techniques, and his main inspirations are music, photography and the work of Zdzisław Beksiński, Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dalí. The main motif of his works is the human being. The characters that are the subjects of his paintings are always a product of the imagination, something like photographed dreams. The metaphorical spheres present in his drawings and canvases show human emotions, thoughts and experiences, as well as the transience of events and the passage of time. As an artist, he rejects conventional beauty and tries to find his own way to express his thoughts and feelings. In his latest works (the series - Spherical Figures), he presents the human being using geometric shapes, contrasting colors and symbolism. These paintings are a collection of more or less cubist portraits of people. In some works you can see surreal or fantastic elements. Most of the titles of the paintings come from Latin, which, according to the artist, creates a magical aura around them and forces the viewer to deeper interpretation.
