Splendor, 2023

This copper work is from an open-ended painting series entitled Substitute of Rain, begun in spring 2023 at the artist's studio in Toruń. The works are monochrome with a high metallic sheen, making them mirror-like. The works also have a distinct structure composed of silicates in the form of irregular streams in the shape of the eponymous rain.

The paintings are made with such technique and technology that they evoke first thoughts such as glitter, polish, chrome, speed and velocity. The coloured works are like mirrors and, through this function, allow one to look through them. The paintings reflect the outside world and the viewers looking at their details as well as themselves simultaneously. 

The work is signed on both sides by the painter.

The painting should be framed in an appropriately chosen frame due to the nature of the wooden substrate (fibreboard). The frame fulfils technical and aesthetic functions in relation to the painting. A well-made frame stabilises the surface and protects the edges of the painting. The second function is to elegantly display the work in a given interior (living room, bedroom, hallway, study, studio, office, foyer, etc.). For this type of work, choose frames with a uniform colour, e.g. white, black, gold, silver or wooden frames with a modern and simple shape.
