7.Auction New Generation for Collectors
This is the seventh edition of the “New Generation for Collectors” art auction at the Art in House Auction House, where we present the works of artists who appeared on the Polish art market after 1989. The common denominator of the names from this art auction is the relatively young age, numerous artistic successes and exhibitions in Poland and around the world. Interesting biographies of artists go hand in hand with their work, often already crystallized: the works of the New Generation are non-obvious, sometimes difficult, requiring a bit more focus and attention from the recipient.
The catalog of the 7th Auction – New Generation for Collectors opens with a characteristic female portrait by Katarzyna Kołtan – the enigmatic, classic-contemporary “Inez”; Zofia Błażko remains on the same subject, showing her model in velvet fabrics; an intriguing, realistic composition with a TV screen is proposed by Radosław Jastrzębski, while Tomasz Tobolewski evokes echoes of Velazquez’s work. We would also like to draw your attention to the early Italian self-portrait of Piotr Uklański, referring both to the Renaissance tradition and the emotional portraits of Gustav Courbet.
The static, calmed composition will appear in the “museum” work of Mateusz Maliborski, a fragmentary portrait of Piotr Trusik that plays with the memory mechanism, an anti-stress magic painting by Sławomir Marzec, geometric abstractions in the form of PRL architecture by Łukasz Lepiorz and Bartosz Kokosiński, and a landscape divided by Łukasz Patelczyk. You can find colorful dynamics in the canvases of Wojtek Brewka, Jasiek Balcerzak, Martyna Czech, Michał Cygan, Joanna Mlącka and Igor Chołda. The sculptures can be found on the last pages of the catalog: it is the head of a blind man in love by Tomasz Górnicki and Mariusz Dydo’s golden bison.
We invite you to familiarize yourself with the “New Generation” – without rush, concentration, paying special attention to the interesting biographies of the authors —-> CATALOG.
