Coming in March: 49th New Art Auction
Another record-breaking New Art Auction is behind us – the February auction at the Art in House Auction House ended with a turnover of PLN 635,000, which at the same time makes it the best auction in the Young and Current Art segment in Poland. We would like to thank all the participants (both bidders and artists) for an exciting evening that brought many surprises: in the case of many artworks, we can talk about a real battle for paintings – not only on two fronts.
The March catalog of the 49th New Art Auction is our magical book evoking spring – a large group of paintings, thanks to their strong colors and dynamic composition, will put you in a joyful mood and light up the interior of your home after months of winter gray. Among them you will find Wojtek Brewka’s bull twins, Robert Jadczak’s farewell in Casablanca, Krzysztof Ludwin’s urban landscapes, Paulina Zalewska’s roller skates at the Baltic Sea, Magda Kępka’s Spanish street and Joanna Szumska’s head in flowers.
At the 49th Auction of New Art, the workshop of former masters will be recalled by Tomasz Kostecki with his art deco watercolor, Jan Dubrowin with a Victorian reader, Borys Fiodorowicz with a rather orthodox icon, Konrad Hamada with a romantic landscape, Mariusz Zdybał with general Behemoth and Jakub Godziszewski with a mythological group forest nymphs. Oneiric and fabulous are the features of the works of Adam Kołakowski, Mir Biały, Jan Bonawentura Ostrowski, Sylwia Perczak, Wiesław Król, Maria Szypluk and Mirella Stern – when you get close enough to the canvases, they will tell you a story … Piotr Nogaj, Monika Ślósarczyk, Piotr Trusik, Teresa Legierska, Ewa Jasek, Grażyna Mucha, Piotr Kamieniarz, Joanna Sarapata, Tomasz Tobolewski and Andrzej Fronczak.
We devote the last pages of the catalog to sculptures: among them you will see a farmer-flightless with nicotine addiction by Marcin Myśliwiec, erroneous knight of Arek Szwed, a golden-feather girl of Adam Kołakowski, female-male angelic duo Katarzyna Bułka-Matłacz and the “blown up” beauty of Jacek Opała.
All works will be shown live during the exhibition, which will start on March 15 and will last until the day of the auction. Will we have any unexpected returns during the auction? We definitely count on it!
