DISPLAYS: Alfred Lenica was born in 1899 and died in 1977. In 1922 he began studies at the Faculty of Law and Economics at the University of Poznań. At the same time, he studied music at the Music Conservatory.
Alfred Lenica painted figurative pictures, mainly still lifes and landscapes, following the example of cubism. In 1947, he co-founded the avant-garde 4F + R group. He strove more and more towards abstraction and tachism. In 1948, in Kraków, he took part in the 1st Exhibition of Modern Art organized by Tadeusz Kantor.
