Anna Karpowicz-Westner
Anna Karpowicz-Westner (born 1951) lives and works in Kraków. From 1973 to 1978, she studied at the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, where she graduated with distinction in the studio of Professor Jan Szancenbach.
She has held 35 solo exhibitions in Kraków, Warsaw, Wrocław, Frankfurt am Main, Luxembourg, Bonn, Darmstadt, and Cologne.
She is the recipient of the prestigious Odilon-Lesur-Adrian Foundation Award in Paris (“Le Salon 1979 Racines,” Grand Palais). Her work was also honored with the award of the Le Groupement des Industriels de la Région Gennevilliers Foundation in Asnières-sur-Seine (Centre Robert Lavergne, 1980) during the 5th Biennale des Beaux-Arts.
Anna Karpowicz-Westner’s works can be found in the collections of the National Museum in Kraków, the German-Polish Institute in Darmstadt, the Polish Museum of America in Chicago, as well as in numerous private collections in Poland and abroad.
