Barbara Moderau

Barbara Moderau graduated from the Sculpture Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, obtaining her diploma in the studio of Professor Jerzy Jarnuszkiewicz. Since 1980, she has been a member of the Association of Polish Artists and the Keramos Association of Ceramic Artists, which gathers Warsaw-based ceramicists and international artists.

The artist views clay as a medium for constructing spatial sculptural forms, creating zoomorphic organic forms such as a series of animal-bird hybrids or ships in glazed ceramics and stoneware. Her sculptures are crafted not only in ceramic clay but also in wood and stone.

Moderau has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions.
