Jerzy Piątek
Born in 1946 in Pińczów. He has been photographing since school. Member of ZPAF since 1978. Landscape and nude photographer. A photographer for many years associated with the Kielce Landscape School and the Świętokrzyskie Photographic Society. He considers Jan Siudowski to be his master, who taught him to think about photography in a simple way, just like documentary filmmakers do. Apart from landscape photography, his output includes nudes and social photography. This reality that surrounded him was recorded mainly in black and white. In 1987, he was awarded the Grand Prix for an individual nude show at the post-plein-air (international) nude exhibition in Riga. In 2007, he prepared an exhibition and an album entitled The sadness and charm of the province where he gathered his photos taken in the late 1970s and early 1980s in the Kielce region. From 1989, together with his daughter, he ran an offset publishing house and printing house. Jerzy Piątek's photographs are in the collections of: the French Museum of Photography in Bievres, the Forest Museum in Gołuchów, the National Museum in Kielce, the Artistic Exhibition Office in Kielce, the Museum in Toruń, the National Library in Warsaw, the Museum of Contemporary Art.
