Joanna Karpowicz

Joanna Karpowicz (born 1976 in Kraków) is a comic book author, painter, and illustrator. She creates her comic works exclusively using traditional painting techniques. She is the author of the painterly series featuring the character Anubis.

Born in Kraków into an artistic family, she is the daughter of painters Anna Karpowicz-Westner and Sławomir Karpowicz. Joanna graduated from the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, earning her diploma with distinction in the studio of Professor Leszek Misiak. The protagonists of her comics include Anubis and Anastazja.

She has exhibited her works in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Poland and abroad.
