Klaudia Zielińska
My passion for realism painting is rooted in the old masters’ works, which I studied during my university education, achieving a master’s degree in Conservation and Restoration of Arts in 2012, at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland. Painting master copies and exploring technologies used in the originals helped me understand the traditional craft and deeply influenced my own work, which I have been developing ever since, concurrently with working in the field of conservation.
What I seek in painting is the depth of colour and value, as well as balance in brushwork: between thick, alla prima impastos, and delicate detail. Since human figure is my main interest, throughout the last decade I carried out many commissions, two of which I am most proud of: the portraits of Honoroary Citizens of Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, and the portrait of cardinal Stefan Wyszyński, painted for a cathedral in Włocławek.
In January 2022, my first individual exhibition was held in Artus Court in Toruń (Rynek Staromiejski 6), summarizing one year of my creative production.
