Łukasz Gierlak
Łukasz Gierlak (born 1985 in Jawor) – Polish artist dealing primarily with drawing, graphics and painting.
In 2013, under the supervision of Paweł Frąckiewicz, he defended his diploma at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. Moreover, in the years 2009–2011 he studied professional drawing with Eugeniusz Geta-Stankiewicz.
He presented his works at many post-competition exhibitions (including the International Drawing Biennial, Pilzno, 2010 and 2012; the International Miniature Biennial, Częstochowa, 2012 and 2014), collective exhibitions (including scholarship holders of the Mayor of Wrocław, 2012; Pracoofnia Dzwykóf, Kąty Wrocławskie, 2014), as well as individual exhibitions (including Outside, Galeria Łącznik, Wrocław, 2014; Reconstruction of a portrait, Art Gallery, Legnica, 2015).
The artist has already had a number of successes, both Polish and foreign. His diploma thesis Agnosia of face was awarded the Mayor of Gdańsk's Award in the Best Diplomas 2013 competition in 2013, and was also distinguished at his alma mater. In addition, he received, among others: the honorary certificate of the highest quality SHORT LIST (9th International Drawing Biennale, Pilsen, 2014), GOLDEN OSTEN Award (42nd World Gallery of Drawing, Skopje, 2014) and the first prize "Triennale Prize" at the 4th International Triennial of Drawing and Graphics in Bangkok (2015).
