Mariusz Stan Wasilewski
I specialize in oil painting, drawing inspiration mainly from expressive abstraction and the richness of the landscapes of Mazovia. I am a member of the Warsaw Association of Artists, where I expand my artistic knowledge under the supervision of professors Wojciech Cieśniewski, Tomasz Knorowski and Agnieszka Zawisza.
My work was greatly influenced by my trips to Kazimierz Dolny on the Vistula in the 1990s, where I met painters such as Franciszek Starowiejski - who recommended that "it is better to regret buying a painting than to regret not buying it", - Łazorek, Gnatowski and Wołek. Their work and the atmosphere of the Kazimierz landscape had a significant influence on me.
My works are presented at numerous group exhibitions organized by the Warsaw Association of Artists. I also take part in plein-air painting sessions, after which vernissages are organized for artists and local communities. My paintings can be found in collections both in Poland and abroad, including: in the Czech Republic, Germany and the USA.
My works "Portrait of Picasso" (2021), "Portrait of Picasso's Muse – Francoise Gilot" (2022) and "Moonlight" (2023) won awards in competitions organized by the Arte FM Gallery.
My paintings have also been exhibited and sold at auctions, including in the Stalowa Gallery, Next Gallery and 101 Projekt. My work is characterized by a subtle approach to nature, with an emphasis on conveying the atmosphere and emotions associated with the landscape. Many of my works depict Polish landscapes of Mazovia or the area of ??Kazimierz Dolny. I live and work in Warsaw.
We will inform you about new artworks availability in the gallery or at the auction.
