Stanisław Noakowski

Stanisław Noakowski was born in 1867 in Nieszawa, died in 1928 in Warsaw. He took his first steps in drawing under the supervision of the artist and art critic Ludwik Bouchard at the real school in Włocławek in the years 1877-1884. Then he studied at the junior high school in Łowicz in the years 1884-1886. Later, he studied at the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, where he studied architecture from 1886 to 1894. After graduation, he took up teaching. In 1906 he became a professor at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. In 1919, he began teaching at the Warsaw University of Technology, where he taught the history of modern architecture and became the dean of the Faculty of Architecture. He is known primarily for his drawings depicting buildings and interiors, not only real ones, but also showing variations on various spatial solutions.
