Wojciech Beszterda
The artist was born in Brusy in 1954. He is one of the most important contemporary artists whose beginnings of creativity date back to the 1980s.
The artist is a graduate of the Fine Arts High School in Gdynia-Orłowo (there he was taught photography by Bolesław and Edmund Zdanowski from Vilnius), as well as a master's degree in art from the Poznań University of Arts in the field of photography art. His work shows interest in the problems of identity, hence there are many references in it about the past of his own family and its fate.
In Beszterda's work one can distinguish the period of unconventional landscape photography, the artist won the first prize in the "cave" of Polish landscape photography in Kielce. After some time, he began to experiment, creating objects with the help of photography. He is the curator of the photo gallery at the Stanisław Staszic Museum in Piła.
Exhibitions of Wojciech Beszterda's work took place in almost all exhibition centers in Poland and also in Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Germany and Italy.
