Zbigniew Matysek
Zbigniew Matysek has been passionate about painting since his early youth. He learned artistic craft by himself, copying the works of great masters, as well as drawing from nature, he never leaves the sketchbook. He is inspired by the world around him, which is why landscape is the dominant theme in his work, although he does not avoid other topics. He freely uses various painting techniques, but his particularly favorite technique is dry pastel, in this technique he mainly creates landscapes, portraits and still lifes. He had his first individual exhibition in 2004. Until now, he had 28 of them in various cities in Poland, incl. in Katowice, Kraków, Stalowa Wola, Warsaw, and also in Slovakia - in Levice. He has also participated in over 30 collective exhibitions, including those organized by ZPAP in Łódź, BWA in Skierniewice, and museums in Łowicz and Skierniewice (in 2018 in the exhibition "Artists of Skierniewic 1918 - 2018"). He was awarded a distinction three times at the J Chełmoński Nationwide Biennale of Non-professional Art. He is a member of the Polish Seamen's Association and the "Direction" group of painters, participating in open-air workshops and group exhibitions organized by them. In 2015, he completed postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Graphics and Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts. On Strzemiński in Łódź, in the field of painting and drawing, under the supervision of professors: Tomasz Chojnacki, Andrzej Grenda and Witold Kaliński. The works of Z, Matyska are in the Łowicz Museum, the Historical Museum of Skierniewice, in the offices of MBank: in Gdynia, Olsztyn and Warsaw, as well as with private persons in Poland and abroad.
