Artist about her work: "My creative process is deeply related to the raw power of nature, specifically the way mountains were formed. I see parallels in the random, chaotic, and multi-layered processes that shape both landscapes and my art. My paintings are a physical manifestation of this, with layers of paint and various materials interacting with the canvas. These interactions leave tangible traces, often obscuring the layers beneath and creating new, unexpected forms. I deliberately leave some of the "stains", which could be considered incorrect, referring to the idea of a seal, a trace, a hieroglyph."
This large-format painting belongs to the "Mountain Matter" series, a body of work produced for the artist's diploma thesis at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow.
The works are informed by the artist's personal experiences and emotional responses to the mountains, drawing parallels between the climber's mindset and the creative process. By engaging with concepts such as matter, expression, perception, and the creative act, the artist seeks to offer a novel interpretation of the mountains and the ineffable qualities of both climbing and artistic creation.
