Substitute for Rain is a series of several, different sized abstract paintings that play on the exploration of emotions and experiences of nature, particularly its changeability and ephemerality. Through the use of mirror effect reflections, intense colours and contrasting textures, the project aims to encourage the viewer to reflect on the nature of water, rain and their impact on our surroundings and emotions.
The works are characterised by, among other things:
Mirror effect reflections - a painting technique that introduces elements of illusion and depth into the works, imitating the natural phenomena of reflection in water. This approach aims to build interaction between the work and the viewer, creating a dynamic relationship of space.
Intense colours - the use of saturated colours, reflect the diversity of nature and its phenomena. Colour as a means of expression is intended to stimulate emotions and evoke impressions of experiencing rain and changes in nature.
The contrast between smooth and rough surfaces is an element that introduces a diversity of textures in the works, symbolising the variety of experiences that accompany rain. Smooth surfaces reflect tranquillity and harmony, while rough surfaces can convey the chaos and unpredictability of nature.
In summary, the Rain Substitute project aimed not only to create spectacular images, but also to reflect on the inextricable bonds between nature and human emotions.
The work is signed on both sides by the painter.
The painting should be framed in an appropriately selected frame due to the nature of the wooden substrate (fibreboard). The frame fulfils technical and aesthetic functions in relation to the painting. A well-made frame stabilises the surface and protects the edges of the painting. The second function is to elegantly display the work in a given interior (living room, bedroom, study, studio, office, lobby, hotel foyer, restaurant, etc.). For this type of work, choose frames with a uniform colour, e.g. white, black, gold, silver or wooden frames with a modern and simple shape.
