Katarzyna Kołodziejczyk
Born in 1977 in Krakow. I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts. J. Matejki in Krakow: in 2002, the Faculty of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art, and in 2005, the Faculty of Painting. In 2011, I defended my doctoral dissertation at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk (interdisciplinary work: painting, photography, art installation, film). I am currently working as an assistant professor at the Department of History of Architecture and Monument Conservation at the Faculty of Architecture of the Cracow University of Technology. I am the author of several scientific publications on art in public space, considered as a timeless tool of communication between the past and the present, and the author of a scientific review of the book Art and Place: site-specific art of Americas. I participate in scientific conferences and exhibitions of art works in Poland and abroad. In recent years I have completed two large projects: art project: "Spacefillres. Art in public space" in cooperation with, inter alia, with the ArtBoom Festival, KBF, MOCAK, MOS in Krakow and the project popularizing knowledge about art: "Sztuka przez Sztuka". Since 2012, I have been the Curator of A-1 Gallery in Krakow. I have been awarded several times for my professional activity: in 2015 - I received the honorary badge "Meritorious for Polish Culture", issued by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Mrs. Małgorzata Omilanowska; in 2016 - the Team Award of the Rector of the Krakow University of Technology for organizational achievements; in 2017 - I received the Individual Award of the Rector of the Krakow University of Technology for scientific achievements. I am constantly developing and improving my professional competences. I paint abstract pictures, I am interested in the processes of perceiving and interpreting senses and meanings in art, the influence of color on thinking with pictures.
