Andrzej Brzeziński

Born in 1944 in Lublin, died in 2008 in Warsaw. Andrzej Brzeziński associated his whole mature life with photography and dowsing, which in his case was an attempt to explain the world. He was an artist moving between attachment to classic photographic patterns (hence the presence of his exhibitions in the photo gallery Hybrydy - Meetings, Faces, Homeostasis), as well as art-seeking proceedings (activity in the Small Gallery - 10 Activities in the Space of Consciousness). In the 70s he led these young photographers gathered around the Medium group in the Warsaw Photographic Society (J. Grzegorkiewicz, J. Fila, J. Stalęga).

He was a photographer practicing both reportage photography and its specific street photography trend, often obtaining a very ironic and even somewhat malicious image of the Polish society of the 70s and 80s of the last century. The last period of his work was directed towards the search for order and harmony in the world, which he privately found for himself in the Far East religions and passed on visually in the series Homeostasis and Transmutations.

His works were in the collections of the photography department of the National Museum in Wrocław (one of the most important in the country), and also participated in the Polish Photography of the 20th Century exhibition organized by ZPAF at the Palace of Culture in Warsaw.

The last review exhibition of his work took place at the UMCS branch in Biała Podlaska in 2005. Brzezinski also dealt with the theory of photography, often expressing controversial views.
