In the arms angel, 1997

Where is this angel? You can’t see the wings. But you can see the outstretched arms. They are so widely spread that they do not fit into the drawing format. I have a rectangle of paper at my disposal. In this format, I want to show a situation that does not fit in the space given to me. That is why I use cropping. I cut off the arms, and let the viewer imagine for themselves how they end. In what gesture did they stop? Are the hands spread out with the arms? Or do they bend towards the figure of the woman? As if they were enclosing her in a safe circle? Or are they perhaps tilted backward? This is for the viewer to decide for themselves.
