Introipium, Diptych
A 2-part sculpture cast in pure bronze, one part thermally darkened and the other gilded. This is a monumental, ancient sculpture of a head that emanates an enigmatic and unsettling aura. Its raw, black surface gives the work a dark, cosmic character, almost detached from this world. However, the most intriguing element of the sculpture is the golden fragment that can be detached, revealing extraordinary, complex internal structures.
Upon removing this portion of the face, an extraordinary, hypnotizing vision is revealed to the viewer. Inside the sculpture, there are tangled, geometric patterns that look like mechanisms from another, advanced civilization. These golden, labyrinthine forms, emanating remarkable precision and beauty, evoke in the observer a sense of admiration and fear at the same time. They somewhat resemble the specific, surrealistic atmosphere of Zdzisław Beksiński's art, combining organic and technological elements.
Introipium, through its otherworldly, mysterious nature, compels the viewer to deeper reflection on the boundaries of human knowledge and existence. It is a sculpture that prompts fundamental questions about the nature of reality. Its enigmatic character makes this work oscillate between beauty and horror, provoking the viewer to independently interpret the hidden meanings within it.
